Biographie
The Spirit of Memphis s'est formé en 2012 à l'instigation de Larry Lacoste, leader, chanteur et guitariste du groupe.
Après avoir sillonné les scènes françaises et européennes, Larry s'est récemment installé dans l'Ouest de la France où a pris forme le projet d'un concept musical qu'il avait à coeur de faire naître depuis toujours, Spirit of Memphis. Auparavant, Larry avait longtemps joué dans divers ensembles, dont Wanted et Bus Stop, formations fondées par Peter Lacoste, pionnier français du Rockn'Roll et de la Country Music. Bus Stop, groupe bien connu des spécialistes de musique US, a été diffusé aux Etats-Unis par le label Comstock Records Arizona, et la chanson Station to Station, composée par Peter, Larry et les membres de Bus Stop a été programmée sur 125 radios américaines et européennes.
Qu'il soit en studio seul avec ses instruments pour élaborer ses compositions originales, ou sur scène accompagné du band, Larry, musicien passionné de langue anglaise et d' Amérique, souhaite défendre et faire connaître un patrimoine musical et culturel d'une richesse infinie dans le respect de la tradition, comme le font les grands interprètes des standards du jazz ou de la musique des siècles passés.
Larry a le plaisir d'être accompagné de Bridget à la basse, Eric Michel à la guitare (Kevin Buckley, April May, Lexie Kendrick, The Yee-Haw Band...), Fab James et Frank Bisson à la batterie, ou encore, lorsque Bus Stop se retrouve en hommage à Peter Lacoste, de Domi (Vocal), Marc Gorse (Laurette Canyon), Rod Opitch (Roch Voisine, Héléna Noguerra...) et Jeff Gautier (Jean-Jacques Goldman, Paul Personne, Alain Souchon...)
The Spirit of Memphis est donc fier de réinventer et d'expliquer le répertoire des grands musiciens qui ont façonné l'histoire de la musique américaine de la deuxième partie du vingtième siècle, tels qu'Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Rick Nelson, Ray Charles ou encore Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich, Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, Don Gibson, BB King et T.Bone Walker, pour ne citer que quelques uns de ces grands architectes de la musique moderne.

Biography
Larry and The Spirit of Memphis was founded in 2012 by singer-guitarist Larry Lacoste.
After playing numerous venues across France and Europe, Larry recently settled in Normandy France where he gave birth to a project he had been thinking about for a while. Prior to that Larry had been singing and playing in various bands among which Wanted and Bus Stop were founded by Peter Lacoste, a French pioneer of Rock n' Roll, Blues and Country Music. Bus Stop has long been a well-known band among French aficionados of Rockn'Roll and Country Music and the band has been broadcast in the USA by Comstock Records Arizona. Station to Station, a song composed by Peter, Larry and the members of the band has been aired on more than 125 US and European radio stations so far.
Whether on his own in his studio recording compositions or playing live with the band, Larry's wish is to communicate and share a musical and cultural patrimony that is in keeping with the great tradition of modern American music.
Larry is glad to be playing with Bridget on the Fender Bass, Eric Michel on guitar (Kevin Buckley, April May, Lexie Kendrick, The Yee-Haw Band...) Fab James and Frank Bisson on drums. When Bus Stop meets as a tribute to Peter Lacoste, he sings and play alongside female singer Domi, guitar virtuoso Marc Gorse (Laurette Canyon), bass player Rod Opitch (Roch Voisine, Helena Noguerra...) et drummer Jeff Gautier (Jean-Jacques Goldman, Paul Personne, Alain Souchon...).
